Paula Jernigan

Executive Director

Paula has been the Executive Director of Mission Central since 2010, having previously volunteered with Mission Central's Lydias Group. She retired from Mississippi State University in 2002, where she also earned her undergraduate and Master of Business Administration degrees. Paula's passion is to create a service environment for clients, guests, students, customers, volunteers, and staff that truly reflects Mission Central's CORE values of compassion, open-mindedness, respect, and empowerment.

Treasure Ford

Program Assistant

Treasure began at Mission Central in July of 2017. She provides support to the Executive Director, Director of Volunteer and Community and Relations, and Director of Family Services.

Treasure recently graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with her Bachelor’s of Business Administration. She first came to Mission Central as a volunteer at the Village Pantry.

Sheila Haynes

Program Specialist

Sheila joined Mission Central in January 2014. As the Program Specialist at the Village Library, Sheila helps keep everyone organized! She greets tutors and students at the door each afternoon, making sure they have the materials and information they need for a successful tutoring session.

Sheila is a retiree of American Airlines, and was a volunteer tutor at the Village Library for 2 years before taking a staff position. Her educational background is in elementary education and art history, and she has volunteered with children in many capacities, including tutoring children at a pediatric hospital.

Catherine Hollis

Director of Volunteer and Community Relations

Catherine has been with Mission Central since July of 2012. She coordinates, trains and recruits volunteers for the organization, as well as providing communications support. She has a degree in public relations from Texas A&M University - Commerce, and has worked in non-profit management for more than 10 years.

Guy Housewright

Donations Processing Coordinator

Guy joined the staff at the Coat of Many Colors in December 2016. He helps receive and sort donations, schedules off-site pick-ups as needed, manages our storage facilities, and helps with the general stocking/cashiering duties at the store.

Guy has worked as a photographer and administrative assistant for a university, and has also been the Assistant Manager of a university bookstore.

Karen Knox

Manager, Coat of Many Colors

Karen joined Mission Central as Assistant Manager of the Coat of Many Colors in December 2014, and became the Store Manager in November 2016. She has a wealth of customer service and retail experience. She is also a wedding consultant who has planned more than 300 weddings. Her education background is in the culinary arts, pre-nursing at Tarrant County College, and general studies at the University of Texas - Arlington.

Lola Nelson-Spay

Director of Student Enrichment

As Director of Student Enrichment, Lola oversees our afterschool tutoring program, matching volunteers and students, and providing educational materials to help the children succeed in school. She also works with teachers and counselors in students' schools to help ensure that we are providing assistance that is most relevant to the child's needs.

Lola is a retired educator, having taught students from Pre-K through 12th grade at different times in her career. She was most recently a guidance counselor at Hurst Junior High. She has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas and a Master's degree from East Texas State University.

Diane Postell

Director of the Community Resource Center

Diane oversees the Family Opportunities Program, as well as the guest experience at the Community Resource Center and Village Pantry. Through the Family Opportunities Program, she works with families who are homeless or in danger of eviction, and helps them set goals and create a plan for moving toward self-sufficiency. She also works with the volunteers at the Village Pantry to ensure that we are sharing resources that can be helpful to all of our guests.

Diane joined Mission Central in March 2015, with more than 20 years of experience in social work. Her experience includes working with young adults who have aged out of foster care, workforce development, working with victims of domestic violence, vocational counseling, and working with families where child abuse and sexual abuse may be present. Diane holds a Bachelor's of Social Work from California State University and a Master's of School Counseling from the University of LaVerne.

Rachel Tshileu

Store Associate

Rachel was a volunteer at the Coat of Many Colors for over a year before she joined the staff as our Store Associate. She is a recent graduate of Birdville High School and is pursuing a career in nursing.
